ABOUT ME
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
HEY, I'M JESS
Toowoomba Family, Birth, Modelling & Branding Photographer
As I grew up both Dad and I realised I had for sure inherited Dad's talent & creative eye.
One thing we loved to do was go for long drives to nowhere in particular & stop whenever we saw something to photograph.
My Dad has always been one of my greatest inspirations.
Along with the type of bond that comes from sharing passions & interests, he was one of the kindest, goofiest yet humble & most positive people you'd ever meet.
He was that embarrassing Dad always making it abundantly obvious of how proud he was of me, which is something that made me squirm when I was young, but as I got older it turned into a sense of pride within myself, which I will forever be grateful for.
He was also one of those annoying people that could pick something up just like that & have to audacity to be amazing at it as well.
Most of all, he had this thirst for living to the full, to find the fun everywhere he went & it was infectious.
He passed away in late 2020. It's a loss I feel heavily everyday.
Photo's of us are the most precious thing to me now.
I carry him with me always, I even have his camera in my camera pack that comes everywhere with me.

I've always had a creative spirit; photography & art run in the blood.
My Dad was also the artsy, creative type (he was a photographer, graphic artist & artist as well). Growing up, I picked up a camera, just like dad, any chance I got!
yep... that cutie is me!
My buisness name is in honour of him also. 'Jessie' is what he called me, so it warms my heart (and maybe makes me tear up a little) every time someone calls me Jessie now.
He was WAY better at landscape photography than I am. This is one of my favourite images of his.

Fast forward, and somehow I've been a professional photographer for almost 10 years now...
I got my start by second shooting weddings, alongside the legendary Matt Edwards Photography amongst various others.
I am incredibly grateful for these opportunities as it gave me the chance to learn and build on my natural talent & have a lot of fun doing it! There's nothing like a post reception dance party!
I then began expanding my creative field, venturing into family, branding & modelling portraits. Each are my favourite in different ways!
I LOVE the slow pace and freedom that comes with modelling portraits & working one on one with a model in contrast to the fast pace, full on & firm schedule involved in wedding days.
BUT family sessions have my heart, even more so after having my own children. Having images that capture the emotion and love of a family is just priceless.
Then, as of last year, I took the big step of taking on birth photography, & boy oh boy am I in love! There is nothing like experiencing a new life entering the world! The emotion, the strength, the intensity! It has me completely obsessed! & chokes me up every damn time.
